One page per batch — seats, schedule, learners, progress

When you run a course as a cohort, the picture you actually need is operational. How many enrolled. How many seats are left. Who's behind on progress. Who hasn't shown up in two weeks. Who's earned a certificate. Cohort Insights gives every cohort its own detail page with those numbers up top, the live-class schedule alongside, and a sortable learner roster you can act on without leaving the page.

Quick Tour·Cohort Insights

What's on the cohort page when you open it

A cohort in Edushade is a real entity — its own start and end dates, its own seat cap, its own weekly schedule, its own instructors, its own roster of enrollments. The detail page reflects that. The Overview tab carries the KPIs and program context. The Learners tab carries every enrolled person and the action you'd take next. Everything scoped to one batch, on one page.

Four KPIs Up Top

Learners, Seats Left, Duration and Max Enrollment — the four numbers you reach for first when checking on a batch. Each updates as enrollments and completions roll in.

Hard Seat Caps, Honoured Automatically

Set Max Enrollment when you create the cohort and the platform respects it. Seats Left ticks down with every new learner; once it hits zero the API refuses further enrollment instead of quietly over-booking.

Per-Learner Roster With the Columns That Matter

Every enrolled learner with name, status, payment status, progress percentage with a bar, last activity, enrolled-at, certificate state and expiry — sortable by any column, with row actions for issue-certificate, view and edit.

Live-Class Schedule on the Cohort Itself

Each cohort carries its own weekly schedule — pick the days (any subset of Monday through Sunday), pick the start and end time. Pick a breakpoint interval (Weekly, Bi-weekly, Monthly or Custom) and see the calculated session calendar before you save.

Multiple Instructors per Cohort

Assign as many instructors, co-instructors and assistants as a cohort needs. The Spring batch can have a different lead from the Autumn batch — instructor assignments live on the cohort, not the parent course.

Bulk Enrollment and CSV Export

Bulk-enroll up to a thousand learners per batch with seat-cap and cross-cohort checks applied per row. Export the cohort listing to CSV with full metadata — title, dates, schedule, capacity, status, audit fields.

Open the cohort and the operational picture is already there

The detail page leads with a banner — title, status badge, program-type badge, the started and ends dates with calendar icons — and a row of four KPI cards: Learners, Seats Left, Duration, Max Enrollment. Underneath sits the Program Information card with the parent course or learning path's title, difficulty, language and description. No filtering through a platform-wide chart to find one batch — every cohort has its own home with its own numbers.

  • Cohort title, status badge and program-type badge in the header

  • Started and Ends dates with calendar icons up top

  • Four KPI cards: Learners, Seats Left, Duration, Max Enrollment

  • Parent program card with difficulty, language and description

Seats Left, refused at the door when the cap is hit

Capacity is one of the most useful operational reads on a cohort — it tells you whether to keep enrolling or open a second batch. Set Max Enrollment on the cohort form (or 0 for unlimited) and the Seats Left badge surfaces the remaining count on the listing and the Overview tab. The moment the cap is reached, new enrollment attempts are rejected at the API instead of silently over-booking. Pair it with the Enrollment Open switch and the Allow Late Enrollment toggle and you have the full set of admission controls in one place.

  • Max Enrollment set on the cohort form, 0 for unlimited

  • Seats Left badge in the cohort listing and the Overview KPIs

  • Hard cap honoured — over-enrollment refused at the API

  • Enrollment Open and Allow Late Enrollment switches alongside

Dashboard

The roster, the way you'd want to read it

Open the Learners tab on any cohort and the full roster is right there. Every enrolled person, with the columns that matter for action — status (Active, Suspended, Expired, Completed), payment status (Success, Pending, Failed, Refunded), progress percentage with a visual bar, certificate state (Issued, Ready to Issue, Not Enabled), enrolled-at timestamp, last-activity timestamp, who enrolled them and the expiry date. Sort by progress to find who's behind. Sort by last activity to find who's gone quiet. Issue a certificate from the row when the learner clears your passing grade.

  • Per-learner progress percentage with a visual bar

  • Last Activity timestamp — find who's gone quiet

  • Certificate column: Issued, Ready to Issue, Not Enabled

  • Issue Certificate, View, Edit and Assign Scope from the row

Run the same course as several batches — kept honestly separate

A cohort isn't a label glued onto a course — it's a real entity with its own enrollments, its own schedule, its own instructors, its own KPIs. Run a course as a Spring batch and an Autumn batch and the platform keeps the two completely separate. A learner can sit in one cohort of a program, not two — the API blocks the second attempt with a clear message. The Course Performance analytics view lets you read several programs side by side across a date range, with breakpoints and sections from each cohort surfaced as filters, so the same content under two different setups gives you two real reads to compare.

  • Each cohort holds its own enrollments and progress data

  • Different instructors, different schedules, different caps per batch

  • Cross-cohort enrollment prevention — one learner, one cohort per program

  • Course Performance analytics view supports multi-program selection

From a fresh cohort to a roster you can act on

Cohort tracking starts the moment you publish. There's nothing to wire up — open the cohort and the KPIs, the schedule and the roster are already there.

1Step
Cohort creation form with title, program type, dates, max enrollment and live-class schedule

Create the cohort

From the cohorts admin pick Add Cohort. Choose the program type (course or learning path), pick the parent program, set start and end dates, set Max Enrollment, pick the instructors, choose the live-class days and times, pick a breakpoint interval. Save and the cohort lands in Draft; flip the status to Published and enrollments can start.

2Step
Cohort overview tab with four KPI cards and program context

Read the cohort's KPIs

Open the cohort and the Overview tab carries the four headline KPIs — Learners, Seats Left, Duration, Max Enrollment — alongside the started and ends dates and the parent program card. The numbers update as enrollments land, completions roll in and the cohort moves through its lifecycle.

3Step
Cohort learners tab with progress bars, last-activity column and per-row actions

Drop into Learners when you need to act

If a number tells you something needs attention, open the Learners tab. Sort by progress to find who's behind. Sort by Last Activity to find who's gone quiet. Issue a certificate when a learner earns it. Bulk-enroll a fresh batch from the assign-to-cohort flow. Action and data on the same page.

A cohort is a time-bound run of a course or learning path. It carries its own start and end dates, its own live-class schedule (days and times), its own seat cap (Max Enrollment), its own instructor assignments and its own roster of enrollments. The parent program provides the curriculum; the cohort provides the calendar, the capacity and the people.
