Notices the right,people actually see
Edushade ships a real noticeboard, not just a banner field. Target by role, course, cohort, learning path, event, quiz or specific users; set priority and expiry; pin what matters; schedule what's coming; and let the learner side track what was read and what's still new.
A noticeboard with real audience targeting
Notices live in their own service with their own admin and their own learner experience. Each one carries an audience type, an audience list, a priority, an optional expiry, a pinned flag and a published-at timestamp — enough fields to send the right thing to the right people without an email blast.
Eight Audience Types
Send to everyone, a specific role, a course, a cohort, a learning path, a quiz, an event, or a hand-picked list of users — picked per notice.
Four Priority Levels
Low, normal, high and urgent. The learner side surfaces priority with an icon and colour, so a deadline reads differently from a heads-up.
Schedule and Expiry
Schedule a notice for a future publish time, set an expiry so an outdated notice does not linger, and the noticeboard hides expired items automatically.
Pinned Notices
Pin the ones that matter most. Pinned notices stay at the top of the noticeboard regardless of how many newer notices land underneath.
Read-by-User Tracking
Each notice carries a read tracking flag, an unread badge on the learner sidebar, and a per-user read record stamped with read-at.
Attachments and Rich Body
Notices carry a title, a rich-text body, a thumbnail and any number of file attachments — pulled from the platform's own file manager.
Target the right audience without a mailing list
Edushade lets you decide who sees a notice with one dropdown. Send to everyone, or scope it to a specific role, a course, a cohort, a learning path, an event, a quiz, or a hand-picked list of users. The audience picker pulls live data from the platform — no copy-paste of user IDs, no separate email tool.
Eight audience types: all, role, course, cohort, learning_path, event, quiz, user_individual

Audience IDs stored as an array — multiple cohorts or courses on one notice
Switching audience type clears the previous selection cleanly
Priority and pinning, so the urgent stays urgent
Not every notice deserves the same treatment. Pick a priority — low, normal, high or urgent — and the learner sees an icon and colour that match the weight of the message. Toggle the pinned flag to hold a notice at the top of the noticeboard, regardless of how many newer items follow.

Pinned notices stay at the top of the learner noticeboard
Priority drives the icon and colour on the panel item
Recurring flag for notices that repeat (e.g. yearly reminders)
Schedule today, expire tomorrow, archive next week
Each notice carries its own status and lifecycle. Move from draft to published in one step, or set status to scheduled with a published_at timestamp and the notice goes live on its own. Add an expires_at to keep an outdated notice from lingering, and archive when the moment has passed — soft-delete keeps the audit trail intact.
Four statuses: draft, scheduled, published, archived
published_at for time-shifted releases
expires_at hides the notice automatically when it lapses
Soft delete preserves notices removed from the active board
A learner noticeboard that actually tracks what's read
Learners get a dedicated noticeboard sheet with an unread badge in the sidebar — one click opens the panel, another marks the item read. The platform stores a per-user read record with the read-at timestamp, supports a mark-all-as-read shortcut, and the bell badge counts only what is actually new.

Mark-as-read on click, mark-all-as-read in one tap
Per-user notice_reads record with read-at timestamp on the server
From draft to delivered notice in three steps
The notice form lives under Communication in the admin. Title, body, audience, priority — set what you need and publish, schedule, or save as a draft.
Write the notice
Add a title, write the body in the rich-text editor, drop in attachments through the file manager, and set a thumbnail. Optionally toggle pinned or recurring.
Pick the audience and priority
Choose an audience type — all, role, course, cohort, learning path, event, quiz, or specific users — then select the records to target. Set the priority from low to urgent.
Publish, schedule or save as draft
Pick a status: published goes out immediately, scheduled needs a publish-at timestamp, draft stays admin-only. Add an expires-at if the notice should disappear on a date.
